Recent Influences

In 2017, my husband and I spent a month in South Africa and the experience is still impacting us.  The colors, the scenery and the spirit of its people still resonates with me and I have attempted to express that in my recent work.

Artistic Inspirations

From an early age I have had a love of color and a strong desire to create.  After taking a journey through a number of different media, I discovered  watercolor over thirty years ago.   I try to put my love of the outdoors into the scenes I paint.

Because I respond to a strong sense of place, I endeavor to reflect that in my landscapes and in glimpses of stray bits of americana.  After a workshop on collage, I began using painted pieces, paper and 3-D images to create collages.  Because I divide my time between Maryland, Maine and Florida, their influence can be seen in much of my work.
